NEW DELHI: The Kejriwal government currently under fire for the farmer’s suicide incident in the national capital during an AAP rally is once again confirmed to face embarrassment and criticism as the Tilak Manjhi Bhagalpur University has reportedly confirmed to Delhi High Court that it has no record of Delhi Law Minister Jitender Singh Tomar attaining a law degree from the university.
“According to university records, the certificate in Jitender Tomar’s name is a fake document and does not exist in our records,” the university’s affidavit stated according to a report.
The university further confirming the matter added that the provisional certificate with serial number 3687 was issued on July 29, 1999 to Sanjay Kumar Chaudhary for BA (Honours) in Political Science and the roll number cited by Tomar is as well wrong.
The response from the university came after the High Court’s notice on a plea that accused JS Tomar of enrolling as an advocate using a ‘fake’ graduation degree and should be sacked as a minister.
On the other hand, the Bar Council of Delhi (BCD) has deferred the license of Tomar after Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Avadh University (UP) confirmed that Tomar’s graduation degree was ‘bogus’.
