Delhi Polls: AAP-BJP attack each other over women’s safety

2019-03-02 0

The AAP attacked the BJP for their “double-speak” on the issue of women’s security. Pointing to the recent remarks made by BJP leaders on women, AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal alleged that a party with “such a mentality could not provide security to women”.

“For the BJP, women’s security are just words, for the AAP, it is a mission,” Kejriwal said.

Elaborating on AAP’s model for women’s security, Kejriwal said around 10-15 lakh CCTV cameras would be installed in the city. He also questioned the Centre’s decision to remove CCTV cameras installed during US President Barack Obama’s visit to the capital. “The BJP government installed 15,000 CCTV cameras for US President Barack Obama’s visit but nothing for our women. They should have left these cameras,” he said.
