The BJP Parliamentary Board, the highest decision making body of the party, may have a new look with several prominent members being dropped from the elite panel. There is strong speculation on whether BJP veterans L.K. Advani and Murli Manohar Joshi, as also some of the present ministers, will find a berth in the Board in view of Amit Shah's desire to have "functional" leaders on it. Shah, who is considered very close to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has indicated that he would prefer leaders who would be an asset to the organisation in the future as well and would contribute in building the party in various places.
