Bangalore city police arrested, Rustom Kerawala, chairman of the east Bangalore school, on Wednesday in connection with the rape of a six-year-old girl inside school premises on July 2.

Kerawala was arrested from union territory Daman on Tuesday and is being brought to Bangalore for further investigation.
The delay in nabbing the culprits and taking action against the school management had evoked widespread criticism, leading to protests in the city and elsewhere in the last one week.

Protests continued today against the shocking rape inside the school premises. Protesters blamed the school management and staff members for inaction, as well as the state government for its seeming indifference to the horrific crime.
