In a bid to expose the UPA government's alleged ''slippages'' in policy-making, the NDA regime will bring out white papers on the performances of various departments over the past decade.
The first white paper on highway-building activities of the UPA government was released by Road Transport and Highway Ministry headed by Nitin Gadkari. Similarly, papers on different departments such as shipping, rural and urban development and civil aviation are expected soon.
The "White Paper on National Highways Authority of India (NHAI)" blames the UPA's decisions like awarding of projects without land acquisition for the poor performance of the road sector, wherein around 60 per cent of the NHAI's schemes are under dispute. According to the report, 189 out of 332 NHAI projects worth Rs 27,210 crore in 20 states are in limbo.
