The University Grants Commission (UGC) has once again sent a letter to the University Of Delhi (DU) asking it to roll back the controversial Four-Year Undergraduate Programme (FYUP) and immediately begin undergraduate admissions even as it sought legal opinion on the compromise formula proposed by the varsity.
The development came after a day of hectic negotiations between the varsity and UGC over the compromise proposal drawn up by a group of academicians. Among other things, the six-point proposal sought replacement of the FYUP with a three years honours course.
