One person is feared dead and at least eight others have been injured, two of them critically, in a bomb blast at Chennai's Central railway station on Thursday morning.
The blast reportedly occurred at 7.30 am on the Bangalore-Guwahati Express on coaches S4 and S5. The train was just approaching the station on platform 9. Both coaches are reported to be badly damaged.
The injured have been taken to the nearby Rajiv Gandhi hospital. The police have rushed to the spot to investigate and the station has been cordoned off. Bomb squads are reported to be combing the station.
