Retired Intelligence Bureau (IB) special director Rajinder Kumar, chargesheeted by CBI in the Ishrat Jahan case, insisted that the four people killed in the encounter were terrorists and dared CBI to prove otherwise. In a conversation , he even dared CBI to prove that the encounter was fake.
The CBI has accused Kumar, along with three of his colleagues, of murder and criminal conspiracy for allegedly killing Mumbai girl Ishrat Jahan and three others in a fake encounter in Gujarat. The allegations were made by CBI in its supplementary charge-sheet filed in the case last week. Kumar, who was joint director of IB in Gujarat when the encounter took place, is the first officer from the agency to ever face such serious charges.
