Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi was shown black flags by women activists of Jan Kalyan Samiti and Bhartiya Kisan Union during his visit to Amethi on Wednesday evening.
The JKS and BKU activists were angry over power supply and bad roads in the districts. Some Aam Aadmi supporters also raised slogans against Rahul, alleging that he has neglected Amethi.
Rahul, who is on a two-day visit to his constituency, was scheduled to arrive in the morning but got late due to bad weather.
Unfazed by protests, he went out and met protesters, even shook hands with AAP workers. Talking to reporters, he said that he has done everything possible for Amethi. "We have done a good job here for women and farmers. I admit that power situation and roads are bad but they are state government's responsibility. Centre has given money to the state government but it has not been used," he said.
