The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has raised strong objections to the proposed communal violence prevention bill. The BJP says the bill drafted by the National Advisory Council (NAC) will end up stereotyping the majority community as the offender. The Congress has hit back citing the lack of justice for the Gujarat violence of 2002 says minorities have to be protected to ensure a fair polity.
