The Group of Ministers (GoM) headed by Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde has started the consultation process on Telangana. The GoM has already met three political parties BJP, MIM and CPI from Andhra Pradesh.
The MIM led by Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi urged the Centre to include two districts from Rayalaseema Kurnool and Ananthapur in Telangana. These two districts have a substantial Muslim population and closer to Hyderabad.
The Andhra Pradesh BJP gave support to the Telangana Bill, but demanded that the interests of the Seemandhra region must also be kept in mind
The CPI which is also supporting the creation of Telangana asked the Centre to follow the due procedure and address the lapses in the bill.
All three parties also urged the Centre not to make Hyderabad a Union Territory.
