The RTI stand in the Parliament brings the differences in the BJP to the fore.
According to sources, Leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha, Arun Jaitley is opposed to the amendment in the RTI to keep political parties out of its ambit. He apparently told his party workers that since parties receive subsidies by the exchequer, they should be accountable to the people. Especially with the uproar over corruption ahead of the Assembly polls, he believes transparency will be key to BJP's success.
Meanwhile, Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, and also a stauch Advani loyalist, Sushma Swaraj, supports the government-led amendment to keep the 6 major political parties out of the ambit. With the ammendment due in the parliament, what will be BJP's stand?
