Mumbai is increasingly becoming the crime against women capital of India. This time a 28-year-old was allegedly attacked at a suburban station by an unknown man using a sharp weapon.
The girl was boarding a north-bound local train when she was attacked. She was admitted to a hospital in Nalasopara, where she received seven stitches. A case has been registered by the police.
The incident also comes at a time when concerns over the security of women in Mumbai are being raised following the gangrape of a 23-year-old photojournalist in the city.
