The Darjeeling hills will get some respite from the ongoing strike called by GJM. This comes after the Morcha leaders decided to relax its agitation on Gorkhaland.
A HC directive which bans strikes in the state had forced the Gorkha Janmukti Morcha leaders to make a climb down. The move taken by the GJM coincided with the end of the 72 hour deadline set by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. However, the two day Janata strike formulated by GJM's Bimal Gurung will still continue in the area.
