NewsX: The condition of senior Congress leader V C Shukla, who was injured after Maoists ambushed a convoy of party leaders in Chhattisgarh's Bastar district, was today critical, according to doctors treating him.
84-year-old Shukla was airlifted to Medanta Hospital in Gurgaon from Raipur early this morning. Dr Yatin Mehta, Chairman Institute of Critical Care and Anaesthesiology, Medanta Hospital said, "Shukla is undergoing treatment. He is critical but doctors are treating him".

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress president Sonia Gandhi are in Chhattisgarh's capital Raipur and are on their way to the Congress office, where the bodies of all the Congressmen killed in an audacious attack by alleged Naxals, have been brought.
Congress number 2 Rahul Gandhi had reached Chhattisgarh last night hours after the attack, in which 25 people have died. It is feared that the toll might rise.
