NewsX: 42 policemen have been booked by the UP police for the death of Khalid Mujahid - the terror suspect in the 2007 serial blast case in Faizabad. Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has also ordered a CBI probe into his death.
Remember, Khalid died in custody yesterday while being taken back to Lucknow jail after a hearing at the Faizabad court. Khalid's family had registered an FIR against the cops.
Police sources are saying that Khalid died of heart stroke, which may be due to heat wave. However, an autopsy report is awaited for knowing the exact reasons for his death.
Khalid along with other accused -- Tariq Qazmi, Mohammad Akhtar and Sajjad Rehman was taken under high security to the Faizabad court for every hearing from Lucknow prison. Earlier this week, a Barabanki court quashed the move by the state government recommending withdrawal of cases against Mujahid.
