NewsX: Inspector Badrish Dutt of Delhi Police, who was recently found dead along with his female friend at her apartment in Gurgaon under mysterious circumstances, was part of the special cell investigation team that unearthed the spot-fixing racket active during the ongoing sixth season of Indian Premier League, sources said on Thursday.

The revelation becomes significant as it comes on a day when the Delhi Police busted the racket, allegedly involving Indian pacer S. Sreesanth, who represented Rajasthan Royals team of IPL, along with two of his teammates -- Ankeet Chavan and Ajit Chandila -- and many bookies.

Police sources did not rule out the possibility of a link between the investigation into betting racket and the death of 45-year-old officer, who was found shot dead at the house of private detective Geeta Sharma in Ardee City on May 11.
