The chit fund scam has exposed the shady nexus between politicians and perpetrators of such ponzi schemes that have duped thousands of investors of their hard earned money. Accused of involvement in the scam, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is now trying to soothe flaring tempers. She has announced a probe committee headed by Justice Shyamal Sen apart from a relief fund.
