Two power centres model has not worked well: Digvijay Singh

In an exclusive interview to NewsX, Senior Congress leader Digvijay Singh says that having two power centres in governance is not ideal referring to separation of powers between party and govt. The Congress General Secretary said that any Prime Minister must have authority to function and then Digvijay Singh hurriedly clarifies that Manmohan Singh had enough authority to act. Singh has said that the model of having "two power centres" has not worked well and suggested that Rahul Gandhi should not opt to nominate a Prime Minister if the party gets a majority in the next Lok Sabha polls. The Congress General Secretary also said that party President Sonia Gandhi has really never interfered in the functioning of the Manmohan Singh Government.
