J&K: PDP demands transparent probe into alleged custodial death

The relatives of National Conference worker Haji Mohammad Yousuf who died mysteriously in 2009 have demanded that an FIR be filed in his death case. A retired judge of the Supreme Court, H.S. Bedi has recently submitted the report of a one-man commission of inquiry to the State govt in Jammu. The commission has given Omar Abdullah a clean Chit. The magisterial probe at the state level too had said that there was no foul play. Haji Yousuf's controversial death, in police custody after his meeting with Omar Abdullah at the CM's residential office on September 29, 2011, had led to a storm in the mainstream political camp. The deceased worker's family members alleges "custodial killing".
