The Congress Party carried out an emergency core group meeting to discuss on the permutations and combinations after DMK pulled the plug on the alliance. The meeting ended late last night. Finance Minister P Chidambaram has earlier said that the UPA has "taken note" of the DMK decision to leave the alliance. He had clarified that the govt was still stable and enjoyed a majority in the Lok Sabha.
