The UPA Government is fast being pushed to a piquant situation with DMK threatening to withdraw support to it over the Sri Lanka war crime row. DMK president Karunanidhi minced no words today while throwing the 'quit threat', saying that DMK will not hesitate to quit if two of its demands are not included in the US sponsored resolution. Karunanidhi wants Lanka declared as perpetrator genocide on Eelam Tamils and establishment of a credible independent probe against war crimes by Lanka. DMK's threat comes even as the Congress led UPA has hinted at a possible vote against Sri Lanka at United Nations Human Rights Council later in March. However, Congress sources say that the decision on Karunanidhi's demand can only be taken by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress President Sonia Gandhi . The sources also said that the party will get in touch with DMK on the issue and try to sort out.
