Uttar Pradesh's youngest Chief Minister, Akhilesh Yadav, completes one year in office today. The Samajwadi Party was voted to power last year with a overwhelming mandate, on the promise of eliminating goonda raj. The Samajwadi party, largely associated with hooliganism, had promised to completely revamp its act. But, a year on, the Chief Minister has been accused by his critics of reneging on his campaign promise - to sanitise Uttar Pradesh of "goonda raj" or lawlessness.
