The new Bharatiya Janata Party government in Maharashtra will hold its first cabinet meeting on Saturday. The cabinet will decide on date for the special Assembly session on a trust vote.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has 15 days time to prove his government's majority in the 288-member House. The BJP's strength in the Assembly is 121, but it claims support of all seven independents and some from smaller parties.
The Nationalist Congress Party with 41 MLAs has also declared unconditional outside support to the BJP.
In the meeting, presentations will be made by Finance, Home, Energy and Agriculture on status of projects, pending projects and other policy matters.
Meanwhile, there has been no clarity with whom BJP will have post-poll alliance. The BJP has left both Shiv Sena and NCP guessing on the issue.
Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray was also attended swearing-in ceremony. The development came after he was assured that his party will be accommodated in the government.
