Indian soldiers killed along LoC cremated

Fierce exchange of fire between Indian and Pakistani armies continued late last night in the Mendhar Sector along the Line of Control. Army reports said firing escalated into mortar shelling and high calibre machine guns. This even as the bodies of the martyred jawans reached their respective home towns. Lance Naik Hemraj was cremated with full military honours in Mathura on Wednesday night. The funeral pyre was lit by his five-year-old son Prince in the presence of senior civil as well as military officers. Though overcome by grief, the martyrs' families say they are proud of their sons who died for the cause of the nation.
