The entire North India continues to remain in the grip of severe cold wave. Delhi woke up to season's coldest day on Monday as mercury dipped to new low of 1 degree Celsius. The Met Department however said that there might be soon some respite from cold winds with temperature expected to rise in Delhi and surrounding areas. On Sunday, cold wave had intensified in the national capital with mercury dropping to 1.9 degree Celsius. This was the lowest minimum for January in the past five years.
