A statue of Sai Baba was removed from a temple here and immersed in Gang Nahar, a man-made canal.
The Sai Baba idol was removed from a temple in Muradnagar area after the directive was passed at Dharam Sansad on August 25 for removal of Sai Baba idols from temples across the country.
A Naga sadhu Narayan Giri, Mahamantri of Juna Akhara said the removal of idol was carried out in keeping with the Dharam Sansad, where representatives from 13 monasteries backed Shankaracharya Swaroopanand’s protest against worshipping Sai Baba.
