The Shiv Sena has called for bandh in Palghar district today. The bandh is in protest against the suspension of two policemen for arresting two young women for their Facebook posts against the shutdown in Mumbai after Bal Thackeray's death. The Maharashtra Government had suspended both the police officers who ordered these arrests. State Home Minister R.R. Patil announced that Thane District Superintendant of Police Ravindra Sengaonkar and Senior Police Inspector of Palghar police station Srikant Pingale were suspended. Earlier, the Bombay High Court also transferred the judge who asked the two women to furnish a bail of 18,000. Ramchandra Bagade was transferred to Jalgaon from Palghar with immediate effect.
