Even as the government is in the dock over CAG reports on 2G and coal block allocation, the Jawaharlal National Urban Renewal Mission Scheme has come for severe flak by CAG. The report tabled in Lok Sabha reveals that out of the 2815 projects approved up to March 31, 2011, a mere 253 projects have been completed. This puts the completion percentage at an abysmal low of 8.9 per cent. The audit, which was conducted in 25 out of the 28 states and 5 out of the 7 union territories reveal that Programme Management Units were not even established in 10 states and they were not performing mutifarious functions assigned to them.
