Badal writes to PM after clash inside Delhi gurudwara - NewsX

The ongoing conflict over the elections to the Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee is intensifying further. Following clashes between supporters of the Shiromani Akali Dal Party and Shiromani Akali Dal Badal party on Thursday, Punjab Chief Minister Prakash Singh Badal has sought Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's personal intervention to settle the conflict. In a letter to Singh, the ruling SAD, Patron-in-chief urged him to stop the Delhi Government from going ahead with its move to interfere in the religious affairs of the Sikh community. Badal also sought the prime minister to ensure that the Committee elections were held in accordance with the directions of the Supreme Court.
