Haryana's Khap Panchayats have always believed that India is living in the medieval ages. And today former Haryana Chief Minister Om Prakash Chautala joined them in becoming the first politician to go on record to say so. Chautala said today that he fully supported the Khaps decision to seek a lower marriageable age for boys and girls. He said: "We should learn from the past especially in Mughal era, people used to marry their girls to save them from Mughal atrocities and currently a similar situation is arising in the state"
