On the 80th anniversary of the Indian Air Force and the show of the force's might was on display. The vintage 1930s Tiger Moth biplane joined the flying display team for the event. The aerobatic display by the Suryakiran planes and Sarang helicopter squad was missing this year. The Suryakirans are being as those planes are now being used for training rookie pilots. The Air Chief N A K Browne said the IAF is in the process of raising a new aerobatic display team with Advanced Jet Trainer 'Hawk' aircraft. He said a 'request for proposal' has already been issued to the British BAE systems for supplying 20 new planes for the purpose.
