A day after union Minister and NCP Chief Sharad Pawar had batted for Robert Vadra over allegations of receiving undue benefits from Realty major DLF, finance minister P Chidambaram has backed Vadra. Chidambaram has ruled out any inquiry into the business deals between DLF and Vadra as there were no specific allegations of a quid pro quo. He also held that the Government cannot probe private deals. Activists Arvind Kejriwal and Prashant Bhushan, who launched an anti-graft political party last week, had described the deal between DLF and Vadra as illicit. Over the weekend Vadra and DLF had issued detailed rebuttals of the charges against them.
