Another round of protests is under way against the nuclear plant at Kudankulam today. And announcements suggest this one is planned to be the biggest yet. The People's Movement Against Nuclear Energy, which is spearheading the stir against the controversial project, laid siege to the nuclear power plant about 500 metres behind the plant. Protestors gathered in around 700 mechanized boats and 2,000 small boats in the sea. The protests were peaceful though around 4,000 police personnel had been deployed around the plant. Protestors have said that the next agitation will be on the 29th of October when they will surround the secretariat in Chennai when the assembly session begins.
