Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapakse will head to Sanchi today, as a guest of the Madhya Pradesh government to lay the foundation stone of the University of Buddhist and Indic Studies. This after President Rajapakse met the President and Prime Minister on Thursday evening, where the rehabilitation process for Tamils and fishermen and a range of other bilateral issues were discussed. PM Singh also hosted a private dinner, which was attended by a select number of guests, for the visiting dignitary. The Indian government had upgraded President Rajapakse visit from a private one to a state visit drawing huge protest from Tamil parties.
