UPA's Presidential nominee Pranab Mukherjee on Tuesday demitted his office as the Finance Minister. Mukherjee has put in his papers to Prime Minister, official sources confirmed. Ahead of resigning as a Finance Minister Mukerjee told reporters at North Block office that he is ready to embark on a new journey. "I feel honoured and humbled on nomination as a presidential candidate of UPA" Mukherjee said addressing reporters at North Bloc. "I am humbled by the support of the political parties to my candidature", he added. Mukherjee's resignation came amidst a gloomy economic crisis and a policy paralysis.
