The announcement was made by BJP president Rajnath Singh at the party headquarters in New Delhi.
Earlier this month, Pal had resigned from the Congress stating that he had been getting a feeling for the past few days that he is not being able to put forth his views and suggestions and there was a problem in communication with the leadership.

"I met Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar and tendered my resignation. I have resigned from my Lok Sabha seat as well as from the party," Pal had said.
