AK Antony talked to the media after meeting DMK Chief Karunanidhi over the nomination of the next President. He said, "I'm here to discuss on the current political situation. It was a fruitful discussion. I'll go report directly to Sonia Gandhi. I'm not going to disclose anything to the media." Defence Minister A.K. Antony met DMK chief Karunanidhi on Sunday to build a consensus within the UPA over the Presidential candidate. The meeting comes a few days after Sonia Gandhi met Agriculture Minister and NCP leader Sharad Pawar who is understood to have urged the Congress chief on the need for a consensus on the new President. Party sources said a meeting between Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee and Sonia Gandhi is also expected.
