World celebrates Earth Hour - NewsX

The world has marked the Earth Hour for the year 2012 exactly 5 years after the movement first started in Australia. Almost 2 billion people from over 5000 cities across more than 130 nations plan to switch off their lights from 8:30 PM to 9:30 PM local time on Saturday, to send a powerful message to the the world for the pressing need for action on climate change. Last year showed us the remarkable visuals of the some of the world's most iconic landmarks being plunged in darkness and this year promises to be no different.
