India's hopes of making the CB Series finale have been dealt a huge blow after a loss to Australia in the penultimate league game. P Kumar was the last wicket to fall for the Indians to hand the Aussies a 87 run win and with that the bonus point. The loss means India are now virtually out of the race for the finals and need to win their last game against Sri Lanka with a bonus point and hope Australia beat Sri Lanka in the last game by a big margin. The Indian innings never got off the ground with wickets falling at regular intervals. The youngsters and the seniors failed to chase down the target and never converted starts. R Ashwin was the best batsman for India with a knock of 26. The scorecard told the whole story as the Australians managed to fight their way to total of 252 for 9. Virender Sehwag starred with the ball with a 3-wicket haul. The Indian innings was huge disappointment as the Aussie bowlers were allowed regular inroads.
