Jammu and Kashmir Minister Ali Mohammad Sagar tonight escaped an attempt on his life by militants who attacked his entourage as he entered his ancestral house in downtown Srinager killing one of his security guards. Sagar, one of the senior National Conference leaders who hold Rural Development and Law portfolios, was unharmed in the major attack which also left three persons--two escort security personnel and one civilian--injured.
