India News: Eight new faces were inducted in the Council of Ministers in the Manmohan Singh government on Monday, with Sisram Ola and Oscar Fernandes making a re-entry after a gap of four years.
Ola, along with Girija Vyas, Mallikarjun Kharge and KS Rao were inducted as Cabinet Ministers.
Ola and Fernandes were ministers in the UPA-I but did not find a place in the UPA-II government, Mallikarjun Kharge - Railways, Sis Ram Ola - Labour and Employment portfolio, Oscar Fernandes - Road and Highways, Girija Vyas - Housing, Urban Development and Poverty Alleviation, KS Rao - Textiles. Manikrao Gavit, Social Justice and Empowerment, Santosh Chowdhury, Health and Family Welfare were inducted as Ministers of State. JD Seelam becomes MoS Finance and ENS Nachiappan Commerce and Industry.
