India News: Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi has been named chairman of the BJP's election strategy committee.
BJP chief Rajnath Singh's announcement came at the end of a dramatic two-day conclave that saw attempts by a faction led by party senior LK Advani to thwart Mr Modi's promotion.
