India News: India News: In a piece of welcome news for Sanjay Dutt 's films-in-progress, the Supreme Court has given the actor another four weeks of freedom before he heads to jail to complete his five-year term for illegally possessing weapons in a case related to the the 1993 Bombay blasts.
This means that Sanjay Dutt, who is working double shifts to wrap up his projects, will be able to finish at least Rajkumar Hirani's Peekay, starring Aamir Khan, which has about a week of shooting left.
Sanjay Dutt, 53, was to surrender tomorrow, April 18, but applied for an extension of six months earlier this week. The Supreme Court has granted him four weeks of the six months on "humanitarian grounds." The actor has alread served 18 months of his sentence and will return to jail for a little over three years.
