The Great Bay Area project is China’s plan to create a huge economic hub by integrating 11 cities in the Pearl River Delta, including Hong Kong, Macau and Guangzhou. Some Hong Kong people are worried that the plan will erode the “one country, two systems” policy. But the city’s leader Carrie Lam said the plan “will not, like some people appear to fear, interfere with the implementation of 'one country, two systems’” and it “will not result in Hong Kong being mainlandised”.
