National Conference leader Omar Abdullah said the decision to withdraw security to mainstream political activists in Jammu and Kashmir is a "regressive" step. Urging the administration to revisit the decision, Omar said that it will weaken the political activity in the state. Omar had also tweeted about the administration's decision and added that if the step is not revisited, he will approach the courts and ask for intervention. The state government on Wednesday announced withdrawal or downgrading of security for several leaders including Shah Faesal.
