In the battle of the Korean TV brands, Samsung Electronics' QLED televisions saw slightly higher global sales than LG's OLED TVs last year. But LG came out on top when looking at total sales revenue.
According to the global market research firm IHS Markit, 2-point-6-8 million Samsung QLED TVs and 2-point-5 million LG OLED TVs were sold worldwide in 2018.
Over 1 million QLED TVs and 8-hundred-95-thousand OLED TVs were sold during the fourth quarter, which includes the hectic Black Friday shopping period.
Despite selling less units, LG saw 6.5 billion U.S. dollars of sales revenue from their more expensive OLED TVs, compared to 6-point-3 billion dollars for Samsung's QLED TVs.
