Residents of the Malkohi formal and informal settlement outside Yola, in Nigeria’s north east, feel forgotten as the country gets ready for its election. Many have lived in these camps for more than five years after they were forced to flee their homes in Gwoza during the Boko Haram insurgency. The jihadist group has killed an estimated 27,000 people and displaced 1.8 million others over the past decade despite efforts by the Nigerian government to eradicate them.
