Former Massachusetts Governor Bill Weld is reportedly preparing to challenge President Trump in the 2020 Republican primary.

Former Massachusetts Governor Bill Weld is preparing to challenge President Trump in the 2020 Republican primary, reports CNN. According to WBUR, Weld has formed an exploratory committee and announced his potential run in New Hampshire on Friday morning. He noted that the nation is "in grave peril" and stated that "we have a president whose priorities are skewed toward the promotion of himself rather than toward the good of the country."
"To compound matters, our President is simply too unstable to carry out the duties of the highest executive office — which include the specific duty to take care that the laws be faithfully executed — in a competent and professional matter," Weld further said. Notably, the Washington Post reports that "Weld left the Republican Party in 2016 to join former New Mexico governor Gary Johnson on the Libertarian Party ticket...He announced this month that he was switching back to the Republican Party."
