As we speak, an honorary graduation ceremony is being held for the 250 student victims from Danwon High School, who died during the tragic Sewol-ho ferry disaster in 2014.
The event began a few minutes ago at the school in Ansan city, southwest of Seoul, with some 500 people attending, including Seoul mayor Park Won-soon, education minister Yoo Eun-hye, and friends and family members of the victims.
The school's principal said that it will continue to commemorate the victims every year and remember their sacrifice forever.
Today's graduation ceremony is being held three years after when the victims were originally expected to graduate, as the bereaved families refused to attend the ceremony until the bodies of two missing students were recovered.
